Program Aim
The BC4T Small Grants Fund aims to address knowledge gaps regarding sea turtles’ nesting sites, migration routes, and genetic connectivity. The data collected is intended to serve as a foundation for defining **Important Marine Turtle Areas (IMTAs)**.
Who can apply?
The fund prioritizes projects that actively involve local communities in research processes, strengthen transboundary and regional collaborations, and encourage cooperation between partners.
Sea turtle conservation and research projects conducted in Turkey, especially those focused on migration routes and data collection, are eligible to apply.
Grant Support
Total financial support
USD 35,000 (no fixed amount per project; funds are distributed from the pool).
In-kind support
• 2 satellite transmitters for Leatherback species,
• 3 satellite transmitters for Hardshell species, for a total of 5 transmitters to be granted.
