She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Hacettepe University, Department of Sociology. Her master’s degree dissertation was published by Metis Publications in 2007 under the name of “Lubunya: Transgender Identity and Body”, and she took various positions including a member of the Board of Directors of the Pink Life LGBTT Solidarity Association.
Berghan, who has been working in the field of children's rights at the Association for Solidarity with Youth Deprived of Freedom since 2005, is a board member of the same association. Berghan is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Kaos GL Association.
Selin Berghan continues to work on transfeminism and children's rights.
Berghan, who wrote various research reports on violence against children, child protection, and refugee children as an independent expert, took part in the first two stages of the TACSO project.
Currently, she is employed as a fundraising expert in the Resource Centre for CSOs in Türkiye Project at the STGM, funded by the European Union.
