Umut Güven

Graduated from the Department of Sociology. Since 2015, has been actively involved in projects run by civil society organizations on human rights and gender studies.

Since 2018, worked as the Editor-in-Chief of Kaos GL Magazine within the Academic and Cultural Studies Program at Kaos GL Association. Served as a member of the editorial board of Kaos GL Magazine. Between 2022 and 2025, took on the role of Equality Coordinator to prepare empowerment training and inclusivity policies within Kaos GL Association and the 17 May Association.

Since 2016, has been organizing trainings in fields such as queer theory, gender, combating discrimination, nonviolence, nonviolent organization, institutional communication, and the development of institutional policies. Provides consultancy services to many organizations on developing inclusivity and violence prevention mechanisms. Served as an expert in many train-the-trainer programs in the field of human rights and managed the coordination of these trainings. 

Güven, who has organized numerous workshops on human rights and gender and has served on the boards of directors of several associations, has been continuing their work as a training specialist at STGM since 2025.
