Turkey's Universal Periodic Review will be discussed at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group report on Turkey will be evaluated at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, to be held between September 8 and October 3, 2025.

The Universal Periodic Review Working Group held its 49th session between April 28 and May 9, 2025, and on January 8, 2025, the Human Rights Council selected Côte d'Ivoire, France, and Japan as rapporteurs to facilitate Turkey's review. 

Turkey's review was conducted on May 6 during the 49th session, with the aforementioned rapporteurs in attendance. A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Head of the European Union, participated in the meeting on behalf of Turkey.

The Working Group adopted the report on Turkey at its session on May 9, 2025. Turkey will review the recommendations made by the member countries of the Working Group in the conclusions and recommendations section of the report and respond to them before the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which will be held between September 8 and October 3, 2025.
