UEFA Children's Foundation has announced its 2026 project call, aiming to safeguard the fundamental rights of disadvantaged and vulnerable children worldwide and to enhance their well-being. Utilizing the unifying and healing power of sports (especially football), the program offers a significant international funding opportunity for civil society organizations (CSOs).
Purpose and Scope of the Program
The program aims to contribute to children's personal development and social integration by providing support through sports and education.
There is no strict budget ceiling determined by UEFA; the amount of grant to be provided will be set proportional to the scale of the project. Co-funding is strongly encouraged by the foundation. The level of overhead/administrative costs is an important scoring/weighting criterion in the evaluation of applications; therefore, administrative deductions are expected to be kept at reasonable levels.
Supported Activities / Areas
The program supports practical projects that have a direct impact on children’s lives and cover the following areas.
- Access to sports and physical activities
- Promotion of healthy lifestyles and child health
- Education, personal development, and employability
- Support for children affected by conflict and integration of minorities
- Inclusive practices for children with disabilities
- Gender equality and environmental protection
- Provision of infrastructure and equipment for the benefit of children
Eligibility Criteria (Who Can Apply?)
- Applications from Turkey (Geographical Scope): The grant program is not limited to Europe and is open worldwide. Therefore, Turkish NGOs (associations, foundations) can apply directly to this program. Institutional "Deal-Breaker" (Red Line)
- Criteria: NGOs applying must be recognized by institutional partners or have been officially registered/active for at least 3 years. Additionally, the organization must have approved and published financial audit or financial reports for the past 3 years.
- Project-Focused "Deal-Breaker" (Red Line) Criteria: The vast majority of beneficiaries in the project must be children under the age of 18. At least 20% participation rate of girls in project activities is required (this is a mandatory criterion).
- IMPORTANT RESTRICTION: Projects solely aimed at identifying (scouting), training, or talent spotting young talents in sports are strictly excluded and will be rejected.
