um:ag's Media Literacy and Fact-Checking Training for Local Journalists in Mardin

Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation (um:ag) will organize a media literacy and fact-checking training for local journalists in Mardin.

On Friday, June 23, 2023, local journalists who are active in journalism as a freelancer or affiliated with a media organization can apply for the training. Journalists from Mardin and neighboring provinces can apply for the training. Participants' transportation and accommodation expenses will not be covered.

Journalists who wish to participate in the training should fill out the application form until Tuesday, June 20 at 17:00.

Participants will be announced via e-mail on Wednesday, June 21 at the latest and detailed information about the training program and location will be sent to the participants.

About the training

Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation (um:ag) is organizing Media Literacy and Fact-Checking Training for Local Journalists with the financial support of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey. The main objective of the training is to introduce participants to basic media literacy concepts and practices, as well as to provide them with the knowledge and toolkit to combat information irregularities and disinformation, which increasingly pose a threat to democracy in today's information ecosystem.
