UN Regional Sustainable Development Forum to be held in April

Organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Regional Forum for Sustainable Development will be held in Geneva as a hybrid event on 6-7 April 2022, face-to-face and also online.

Considering the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused a significant setback in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) this year, the Forum seeks to come up with concrete policy actions to reverse this setback and accelerate progress on the SDGs, and efforts to build a resilient and sustainable economic recovery.

In a variety of formats, including plenary sessions, roundtables, side events and preparatory consultations, the Regional Forum will provide opportunities for exchange of views and collaborative learning on how to accelerate progress on SDGs in the context of COVID-19.

During the Forum, the following sustainable development objectives will be explored in depth:
SDG 4: Quality education and lifelong learning
SDG 5: Gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls
SDG 14: Life in the water: oceans, seas and marine resources
SDG 15: Terrestrial life: terrestrial ecosystems, forests, desertification, soil degradation, biodiversity
SD 17: Partnerships for Purposes
