UNDP Accepts Applications for Renewable Energy Training Courses

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of National Education (MEB) are now accepting applications for the new renewable energy trainings organized for Syrians under temporary protection and members of host communities in Turkey.

The training, funded by the Republic of Korea, combines digital and face-to-face learning methods to provide a more accessible system for adult participants. The program, which is in its third year, aims to train a total of 1,600 people. The program, which has seen 969 participants complete the training so far, has opened a new quota of 631 people for the new term between February and October 2023.

Participants acquire professional and technical knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities for the generation of solar and wind energy. The training program is designed to help Syrians under temporary protection and members of host communities acquire new skills and access employment opportunities, and to fill the gap in skilled workers in the renewable energy sector.

Individuals who successfully complete the training are eligible to receive the internationally recognized Europass Certificate, which strengthens their access to employment opportunities in the growing renewable energy sector in Turkey.

Applications for the quota of 631 individuals in the new renewable energy training period are open until January 25, 2023. Syrians under temporary protection and Turkish nationals aged 18-40 who wish to pursue a career in the renewable energy sector are eligible to apply for the training. Female candidates are encouraged to apply for the training.

The new era of training will be held in public education centers in Izmir, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Bursa, Kocaeli and Istanbul. The trainings will last a total of 247 hours, 144 hours in person and 103 hours online. Financial support will be provided to participants who continue and successfully complete their training. The program also aims to provide participants with hands-on training, internships and job opportunities in private companies in the renewable energy sector.
