UNESCO 2026 call for applications: International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD)

Within the scope of UNESCO's 2005 Convention, the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) has launched the application process for the 17th round of grants to support the emergence of dynamic cultural and creative sectors in developing countries.

A maximum grant of USD 100,000 will be provided to the selected projects as a result of the evaluation. Supported projects are expected to have an implementation period of between 12 and 24 months.

Supported Activities / Areas

  • Development of cultural policies and strategies that have a direct impact on the creation, production, distribution, and access to cultural products.
  • Strengthening the professional, administrative, and institutional capacities of public entities and civil society organizations (CSOs) in the cultural sectors.
  • Implementation of structural measures that ensure gender equality in cultural and creative sectors and encourage the participation of vulnerable groups in cultural life.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Public institutions and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from developing countries that are parties to the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions may apply. (Turkey is among the eligible countries that are parties to the Convention).
  • International CSOs (INGOs) submitting projects that will create regional/interregional impact in at least two or more eligible countries.
