Urgent Action Fund has announced the "Security Grant" program for urgent and unexpected situations to ensure the safety of women, trans, and non-binary (those who do not conform to the binary gender system) activists and groups.
The program aims to provide fast and flexible protection for activists who are at risk or under threat to their security.
- Budget Limit: Maximum 8,000 US Dollars (USD).
- Project Duration: Actions must be implemented and reported within 3 months after receiving the grant.
Eligibility criteria (who can apply?)
- Target Audience and Leadership: The key decision-makers must be women, trans, or non-binary individuals, and the proposed actions must directly focus on the rights and benefits of these groups.
- Urgency: The situation must be an unpredictable, sudden crisis/risk where time is of the essence.
- Networked: The applicant group must be supported or recognized by local or international feminist activists/networks.
- Applications from Turkey (Geographical Scope): Applications are accepted from anywhere in the world and in all languages; thus, activists and NGOs (associations/foundations) targeting audiences in Turkey can directly apply to this program.
- Important Restrictions and Exclusions: Organizations with an annual budget over 1 million US dollars cannot apply. Individuals who are not activists are not supported. Annual operating and administrative expenses (rent, salaries, general administrative costs/overhead costs) are not funded. Pre-planned projects, service delivery programs, charity, humanitarian aid, scholarships, infrastructure/construction projects, and deficit funding are strictly not accepted.
