The STGM Information Center Legal Support Desk aims to strengthen civil society organizations in Turkey on legal regulations and provides information, documents, and legal consultancy in this field.

Within this scope, we hope to work for a period of two months with 3rd and 4th-year law students or newly graduated/early-career lawyers who are interested in legal matters concerning civil society. By the end of the two months, we aim for volunteers to gain experience in organizing legal information, filing data, and providing consultancy on legal matters related to the civil sphere. Individuals who act with a sense of responsibility, work with determination and curiosity, and are proactive about legal matters in the civil field can reach out to us.
Scope of the volunteering
The main topic of the volunteering is to support the content of the Legal Support Desk at STGM’s Information Center and to gather accurate and up-to-date information regarding legislation relevant to civil society. Gathering information for the Information Center will constitute the main focus of the work.
During the volunteering period, local transportation costs and lunch expenses will be covered by us for the days the volunteer comes to the office.
Requirements for volunteering
- Being a 3rd or 4th-year law student
- Being a recent graduate or a lawyer at the beginning of their career
- Being curious about legal matters concerning civil society and international human rights mechanisms
- Being open to learning and communication
- Being detail-oriented
- Having research skills
- Having basic computer skills
- Being sensitive to confidentiality
- Having organizational and planning skills
- Being willing to work under the supervision of the Legal Support Desk Specialist
- Being able to dedicate 18 hours per week for volunteering over a two-month period
How will the process work?
After the evaluation of applications, selected volunteers will participate in an orientation and volunteer training program. The volunteering process will begin after the orientation and training. Transportation and lunch expenses of the volunteers will be covered by us.
The deadline for applications is Friday, August 1st at 6:00 PM. Feedback regarding applications will be provided within one week at the latest.

The STGM Information Center Legal Support Desk operates within the scope of the Resource Center Program, which we carry out with the financial support of the European Union.
Within the Resource Center Program, we work to help civil society organizations, which are essential elements of democracy, make their voices heard by wider audiences and strengthen their organizational, institutional, and financial capacities.
