Three years have passed since the February 6 earthquakes. In this period, thousands of children not only lost their homes and schools but also their sense of security, routines, and caregiving relationships. Disasters stand before us as a multilayered experience that tests the emotional resilience not only of children but also of parents.
As the Civil Society Development Center, in the fourth episode of the webinar series organized within the scope of our project “Strengthening the Monitoring, Reporting and Advocacy Capacities of NGOs Working in the Field of Child Rights” conducted in partnership with UNICEF Turkey, we will discuss being a child and a parent during disasters.
In the webinar, we will talk together with Hasan Deniz from the Mother Child Education Foundation about topics such as children's well-being in the post-disaster period, parent–child relations, psychosocial support, equal parenting, and a gender perspective.
- Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026

• How does the emotional burden on parents affect children's well-being?
• Why is equal parenting critical during times of disaster?
• What kind of resilience planning should be done for children and parents before a disaster?
We invite NGOs working in the field of child rights, social workers, psychologists, parents, and everyone interested in the topic to join our webinar.
