In our relationships with children, are we talking about "consent" or "approval"? And why is the difference between these two concepts so important?
In this webinar, organized with the participation of Comprehensive Sexuality Educator and Consultant Efsun Sertoğlu, we will focus our discussion on children’s bodily autonomy, the culture of consent, and rights-based representation of the child.
This webinar, where we will consider the concept of consent not only as an individual issue but also discuss how it should be integrated into the daily practices, language, and policies of institutions working with children, will take place on Tuesday, May 5, from 14:00 to 15:00 via Zoom.
What will we discuss in the webinar?
- Why do we use the concept of consent instead of approval?
- What does a culture of consent mean in our relationship with children?
- When it comes to children’s representation and visibility, where do ethical boundaries begin?
- What principles should we consider when using images of children?
- What should NGOs wanting to establish a culture of consent in their work pay attention to?
