In Turkey and Bolivia, women and LGBTI+ individuals are fighting not only against patriarchy, but also against mining companies, land grabs, water privatization, ecological destruction, and increasingly authoritarian regimes.
At the first meeting of the international webinar series organized by the Gender Equality, Bodily Autonomy and Discrimination Cocoon of the Peoples’ Climate Summit, Aymara feminist activist, popular educator, and one of the founders of Feminismo Comunitario Antipatriarcal, Adriana Guzmán, will be the speaker.
The webinar will address the relationship between body and land (cuerpo-territorio), colonialism, patriarchy, indigenous struggles, collective memory, and connections with climate justice. Drawing on Adriana Guzmán’s experiences, the discussion will focus on the intersection points of struggles in Bolivia and Turkey, shared questions, and possibilities for solidarity.
