Implemented by the Association for Civil Society Studies in collaboration with the Youth Services Center Association (GSM) and the Turkey Europe Foundation (TAV), the project supports young people’s participation in local governance processes through a rights-based approach.
Project aims
The project aims to encourage young people to contribute to the democratic governance of their cities — particularly through the creation and use of urban spaces.
What will happen?
- Capacity-Building Trainings
During a nine-day in-person training program, 20 young participants will gain knowledge and skills in rights-based approaches, youth rights, participatory democracy, urban governance, advocacy, and needs assessment.
- Mapping and Solution Development
After the trainings, participants will conduct needs analyses, city walks, and mapping studies in Tekirdağ’s Süleymanpaşa district, developing practical solutions and proposals for the city.
- Local Dialogue Meetings
The young participants’ solution proposals will be shared with local government representatives in five dialogue meetings, ensuring that youth perspectives are directly reflected in local decision-making processes.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be between 18–35 years old,
- Have resided in Tekirdağ for at least six months,
- Be motivated to engage in local governance,
- Be available to attend at least 80% of the program.
