Youth for Peace: UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Programme

The Youth for Peace: UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Programme empowers young leaders to use intercultural dialogue as a transformative strategy to address global challenges. The first edition’s theme is: “Learning to Collaborate for a Shared Future: Using dialogue to foster social cohesion in a world on the move.”

$10,000 USD per approved community project, following training and submission of action plans.

Global Engagement

UNESCO Global Alumni Network

Global Youth Dialogue for Peace Forum

Access to UNESCO resources and tools

Contribution to Global Intercultural Action Observatory

Timeline (Tentative)

  • September 2025: Online workshops
  • October 2025: Finalize project plans, grants disbursed
  • Nov 2025 – May 2026: Project implementation
  • April 2026: Global Youth Leaders Dialogue in Guangzhou, China
  • May 2026: Final reporting
  • Post-May 2026: Ongoing alumni activities

Programme activities and applications will be conducted in English.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be 25–45 years old by September 1, 2025
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to intercultural dialogue
  • Show potential to drive change
  • Commit to full participation in all activities

Projects must:

  • Align with the annual theme
  • Be implementable within 6 months
  • Be local or national in scope

Selection Steps

  • Submit application and documents by June 22, 2025
  • 50 selected participants notified by August 2025
