Academy Meets Civil Society: Database of Academics / Researchers is Now Opening

As STGM, we take another significant step in the CSO Resource Center Project, which we have implemented to strengthen the field of civil society and contribute to the sustainability of organizations, to strengthen and maintain the relationship between academia and civil society organizations. We actualize Database of Academics / Researchers to contribute to strengthening the bond between academia and civil society organizations in Turkey and civil society actors to meet with stakeholders in the academic field.

Within the scope of the CSO Resource Center Project, which we carry out with the funding of the European Union, we carry out a series of activities to ensure that the production in the academic field meets civil society. Through these activities, we aim to contribute to the transfer of academic outputs beyond the boundaries of the university, to the civil society organizations to have a deeper and more comprehensive perspective on their field of activity, and to use academic knowledge and experience in their activities.

One of the tools we recommend in this context is the academician/researcher database. With this database, we aim to establish a communication and cooperation network between NGOs and academia.

We expect this database to support research on various fields of civil society, development of advocacy activities, development of policies, and development of monitoring and inspection mechanisms, in cooperation with academia and civil society.

By registering in the database, academicians and independent researchers will make it easier for CSOs working in their field to reach them; CSOs will also be able to use it as a facilitating tool that they can reach academics in their field of study by using various search criteria.
