ALİKEV Space, brought to life in Ekinci Neighborhood where Ali İsmail Korkmaz was born and raised, will once again host ALİKEV’s activities in Hatay. The opening was attended by civil society representatives, supporters, artists, volunteers, youth, local residents, and public officials.
During the opening program, speeches were made by ALİKEV General Coordinator Deniz Umut Eker, Yörük Kurtaran on behalf of the Support Foundation for Civil Society and the Turkey Mozaik Foundation, Mor ve Ötesi vocalist Harun Tekin, President of the Board of the Architecture for All Association İbrahim Emre Gündoğdu, Ali Rıza Çelik representing Haydar Polat’s family, and ALİKEV Board President Emel Korkmaz. The program also included a talk where young people shared their experiences, and the center was inaugurated.
During the opening, ALİKEV Board President Emel Korkmaz emphasized the importance of reopening the center, stating, “As Hatay rises again, we are reopening our doors.”
A shared space for youth creativity
ALİKEV Space features a library open for young people, silent study areas, book clubs, research spaces, music rehearsal and recording rooms, and a podcast studio. The center also includes shared workspaces for civil society partners, a multi-purpose hall suitable for workshops, panels, film screenings, concerts, and an outdoor garden for events.
ALİKEV Space aims to contribute to revitalizing the social and cultural life in Hatay as a place where young people can come together, learn collectively, and create.
