About the Panel,

The role and importance of the lifelong learning approach and adult education is increasing day by day in responding more effectively, holistically, and quickly to today's complex and cross-border problems. Article 4 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals also calls on the global community to promote lifelong learning opportunities and adult education for all. In this context, the 7th International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VII) to be organized by the UNESCO Lifelong Learning Institute in Morocco in 2022 will address effective adult education from the perspective of lifelong learning and within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same conference, the GRALE 5 report will be published, which will present recommendations to member states to promote the global citizenship education approach in adult education. In the panel that will be held on August 17, the global citizenship education approach in adult education, the CONFINTEA VII process and its importance for educators, and the role of local governments in adult education will be discussed with the speakers. The panel will be held within the scope of the “Environmental Literacy Communication Network Project” carried out in partnership with YUVA and Kyoto Club and supported by the EU.
