EU Civil Society Strategy Preparation Process Information Webinar is now available

The information webinar we held on Tuesday, July 29, about the EU Civil Society Strategy and the European Commission's preparation process for the strategy is now available. The event, which focused on the strategy shaped by the Democracy Defense Package supported by Commission Recommendation 2023/2836, aimed at creating a framework for action at the EU and member state levels, featured our Board Member Seniye Nazik Işık and TÜSEV Deputy Secretary General Güneş Engin as speakers. The event addressed the strategy's purpose, scope, and importance for civil society in Turkey.

What is the EU Civil Society Strategy Open Public Consultation?

The EU regularly consults with these structures, which play a key role in the implementation of EU policies on the ground through activities such as awareness raising, education, service provision, policy monitoring, and advocacy, through participatory processes at various times.

The EU Civil Society Strategy, which aims to establish a framework for action at the EU and member state levels and is supported by Commission Recommendation 2023/2836, was developed in consultation with EU countries as well as non-EU countries and candidate countries for EU membership, such as the Republic of Turkey. The main objective is defined as strengthening dialogue with civil society actors, providing them with support, and offering the necessary protection to enable them to continue their work.
