Media Literacy and Fact Checking Training for Local Journalists

Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation (um: ag) will organize Media Literacy and Fact Checking Training for Local Journalists with different participants in 10 provinces from different regions of Turkey.

On June 9, 2023, the first day-long training in Antalya is open to local journalists who are affiliated with a media organization or actively engaged in journalism. Journalists from Antalya and surrounding provinces can apply for the training. The transportation and accommodation costs of the participants will not be covered. 

Journalists who wish to participate in the training must complete the application form by 17.00 on Monday, June 5. The participants of the training will be announced by e-mail on Wednesday, June 7 at the latest, and detailed information about the training program and its location will be communicated to the participants.

About Media Literacy and Fact Checking Training for Local Journalists 

The training aims to familiarize local journalists with basic media literacy concepts and practices and to provide a set of information and tools to combat information disorganization and disinformation that pose an increasing threat to democracy in today's information ecosystem.
