Middle Black Sea Youth Workshop Report published

The Youth Laboratory Association has published a regional report and provincial policy documents containing the outcomes of the Central Black Sea Workshop organised as part of the ‘Youth Participation Project in the Black Sea’ carried out with the support of the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme.

Young people from Amasya, Tokat, Çorum, Sinop and Samsun provinces participated in the workshop held in Samsun between 16-18 May 2025.

Over the course of the three-day programme, the young people expressed their views on topics such as education, employment, youth participation, the climate crisis, gender equality and relations with local authorities, analysed the structural problems they faced and developed concrete solutions.

Workshop report

The Youth Laboratory Association published the report it prepared following the workshop under the title ‘Central Black Sea Youth Participation Regional Report.’

The report reflects an approach that positions young people not merely as individuals who are listened to, but also as actors who shape processes, develop proposals, and have a say in decision-making mechanisms.

It also serves as an important reference document for local administrations, civil society organisations active in youth work, and decision-makers.

Province-based policy documents also published

In addition to the report, the association prepared separate policy documents for each province with the aim of highlighting the specific needs of the region.

The provincial reports, prepared within the framework of an approach based on the local context, offer specific solutions to the problems faced by young people in Samsun, Amasya, Tokat, Çorum and Sinop, while aiming to contribute to a participatory local governance approach by including young people's suggestions regarding their own cities.
