GreenNet is an internet information communication network that works through information and communication technologies (ICTs) to support and encourage groups and individuals operating in the fields of peace, human rights and environment. It was established in 1986 as a non-profit organization.

GreenNet is a founding member of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), the only global network that operates on peace, human rights and environmental issues. APC currently has 45 members, over 50,000 activists, non-profit organizations, charities, and serves in over 133 countries.

Purposes and the Way of Work

The aim of GreenNet is to support and develop organizations operating in the fields of peace, economic and social justice, human rights and environmental sustainability around the world, and to create a network for information and communication sharing among these organizations.

GreenNet provides supports to members such as e-mail accounts, internet connection, website design and website hosting.

Membership Criteria

GreenNet was created to support small and medium-sized organizations, especially activists and NGOs. All organizations that comply with the GreenNet mission and objectives can become a member of this Internet information access network. GreenNet brings together the web pages of its members on its own site.
