South East European Youth Network (SEEYN)

Changed
SEEYN is an initiative to tackle differences between communities with a tradition of conflict by bringing together young people from the entire Southeast European Region to work together. The only way to overcome inherited hostility and intolerance is to work together in coordination with people who have the same purpose.

Purposes and the Way of Work

SEEYN attaches great importance to the cooperation of young people, who are the leaders of the future society, and sees this as a step towards solving the accumulated problems and providing an example for others to follow. SEEYN is one of seven networks created under the FRESTA (Peace and Stability Fund) program run by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has 24 member NGOs from 12 countries.

Membership Criteria

SEEYN consists of organizations in South East Europe countries, including Turkey. It's members are quite diverse. The network covers a wide range of organizations, from small and loosely structured groups to well established NGOs. Thematically, organizations vary from subject-based NGOs (eg human rights, environment) to broader approach NGOs (eg youth issues or democracy building).
