Purposes and the Way of Work
In line with international community agreements, WFD carries out its activities in a way that ensures equal opportunities for hearing impaired individuals and their full participation in society.
For this purpose, WFD carries out many studies including activities such as sharing knowledge and experience among institutions and organizations working on this issue, monitoring existing policies and generating influence mechanisms on them, establishing joint working areas with local, national and international groups, organizations and states that work on the creation and protection of facilities for hearing impaired individuals in the world, creating an environment where hearing impaired individuals can make their voices heard and express themselves, raising social awareness on the subject and enabling hearing impaired individuals to contribute to the cultural richness of the society they live in.

WFD has four categories of membership:

- International Membership and
- Individual Membership
