Local Youth Associations Network Starts International Cooperation

Pi Youth Association, the term secretary of the Local Youth Associations Network (YGDA), is starting the Civil Society Dialogue Project to strengthen the cooperation of youth organizations in Turkey with youth organizations in Europe.

The "Civil Society Dialogue for Strengthening Local Youth Work" project, which will be carried out jointly by the Pi Youth Association with the organization Stichting Bloom Foundation from the Netherlands, started its activities on April 30, 2021. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is also involved in the project as a participant.

“Civil Society Dialogue for Strengthening Local Youth Work” project, received grant support within the scope of the sixth period of the Civil Society Dialogue Program implemented by the T.R. Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the financial support of the European Union. The Contracting Authority of the Program is the Central Finance and Contracts Unit. “Civil Society Dialogue” is a grant program that aims to bring civil society organizations in Turkey and the European Union together around common issues to exchange information and experience and build a lasting dialogue. Civil Society Dialogue is instrumental in bringing EU norms and good practice examples to our country through cooperation and partnerships developed between civil society organizations in Turkey and the EU in areas related to the EU acquis.

On issues such as increasing employment, improving working and living conditions, establishing appropriate levels of social protection systems, establishing a dialogue with social partners, developing human resources for a sustainable employment structure, combating social exclusion and poverty, and providing equal opportunities for women and men; the biggest aim of the project, which will be carried out to strengthen the capacities of youth workers and civil society organizations working in the field of youth, is to strengthen the civil society dialogue between Turkey and the European Union on these issues.

Within the scope of the project, which will continue for 15 months, national conferences for youth workers in Turkey and the Netherlands, training in Ankara, İzmir, and Gaziantep, and a national youth summit activities will be organized.

Pi Youth Association is an Izmir-based civil society organization working to strengthen the capacities of youth and youth work in Turkey. In addition to these works, it also carries out activities for the rights that the individuals between the ages of 15-30, that is, young people, that it represents, and the problems that need to be solved. It draws the necessary strength for its work from the young people whose rights it defends. Pi Youth Association, working with youth for youth, has organized many projects, activities, and events to realize this mission since its establishment on 14 March 2014.

Local Youth Associations Network (YGDA) is a civil society network operating in the field of youth, established on January 1, 2021, by 40 youth associations from different parts of Turkey. You can follow the activities of YGDA at www.genclikderneleri.org .
