Ezgi Karataş

Ezgi Karataş, a graduate of Ankara University’s Department of Journalism, has experience in civil society and independent media. She has held various positions in civil society research projects carried out at Hacettepe University and METU; during this period, she took part in field-based studies.

She started her journalism career at SoL Haber. She worked as a freelance reporter for various publications such as Gazete Duvar, Journo, Taz Gazete, and Ahvalnews. She continues to produce content on rights-based journalism, civil society, and freedom of expression.

Between 2018 and 2021, she served as the Communication Coordinator in the CSO Resource Center Project conducted at STGM. After the completion of the project, she worked as the Communication Officer at the Nature Research Association. Having rejoined STGM as of January 2022, Karataş currently works as a senior communications expert in the Monitoring the Freedom of Association Project.
