The webinar will discuss the legal status of the right to clean air, the effects of air pollution on human health, and the relationship between the right to clean air and human rights.
In the first session of the program, Prof. Dr. Gamze Varol, Head of the Department of Public Health at Namık Kemal University and TMA Representative member of the Right to Clean Air Platform, will discuss the basic concepts of air pollution and the effects of air pollution on health.
In the second session of the program, Lawyer Gizem Koç, who works on climate change and air pollution legislation and lawsuits at ClientEarth, will discuss the relationship between the right to clean air and human rights law. Then, Lawyer Selin Esen and Lawyer Gizem Koç, who work on legislation on the prevention and mitigation of industrial emissions at ClientEarth, will talk about legislation and court decisions on air quality in Turkey and the EU.
In the last session, Legal Advisor of the Right to Clean Air Platform, Lawyer Ceren Pınar Gayretli and Lawyer Selin Esen will talk about legislation and court decisions on industrial air pollution in Turkey and the EU.
