17 Mayıs Association is looking for a Finance and Administrative Affairs Officer.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting, economics and administrative sciences or other related field from college or professional school, 
  • Good command of English,
  • Ability to use Excel and preferably accounting programs at a good level,
  • Experience in project management and financial reporting,
  • Preferably experience in accounting and pre-accounting,
  • The ability to work diligently and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Pre-Accounting

  • Make daily accounting entries for the association and projects. Coordinate checks of monthly accounting records and project accounts with General Coordinator and Project Managers.
  • Report payments to the General Coordinator on a regular basis and ensure that employee payrolls are processed without interruption.
  • Proper filing of all financial documents. Regularly maintain hard copy and digital project files and be responsible for their security.
  • Assist the Accountant and General Coordinator in developing work methods to properly and completely complete accounting transactions.

Financial Reporting and Procurement

  • Work with the Accountants and Project Managers in the preparation of all internal, external and project financial reports for the Association and assist the General Coordinator.
  • Assist the general coordinator in monitoring the general budget and project budget.
  • Contribute to transparency studies conducted by the 17 Mayıs Association.
  • Follow up on all reports that the 17 Mayıs Association is required to fulfill according to the Regulation on Associations and other laws and regulations to which the Associations are subject, and collaborate with the Accountant and the General Coordinator in the full fulfillment of the obligations.
  • Be responsible for developing new methodologies to make all financial reporting, and in particular project financial reporting more effective.
  • Assist 17 Mayıs Association staff with financial reporting and budget tracking.
  • Support and monitor the financial sustainability of projects and financial reporting of civil society organizations receiving support under projects implemented by the Association as part of the strengthening of local organizations.
  • Be responsible for tracking purchasing processes in accordance with the Association's purchasing policy documents.
  • Be responsible for drafting the necessary copyright and supply agreements with the experts or companies with whom collaboration is carried out.
  • Be responsible for the administrative affairs of 17 Mayıs Association.
  • Be able to write reports in English.

Main Skills

  • Classification, filing and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to come up with creative ideas to keep accounting systems up-to-date and ready for development.
  • Systematic thinking and planning skills for financial reporting, budget tracking, reporting and information transfer.
  • Knowledge of written regulations that the association must follow and good command of legislation.
  • Ability to prepare various types of reports, including financial reports.
  • Ability to take responsibility and initiative to introduce and implement new rules and policies.
  • Experience in planning and organizing own business.
