“Some burdens cannot be carried alone… Some questions cannot be answered alone…” With these words, we are starting a new YouTube program: Let’s Talk Together…

Come, let's talk together

Very valuable work is being done in the civil sphere. There is great effort, expertise, and strong experience. To what extent is this accumulation in the civil arena shared in a way that increases collective capacity?

The “Perception of Civil Society in Turkey” study we conducted in 2024 revealed a striking picture for the civil field: About 80% of society states that they have never had any interaction with civil society.

This data made us consider two things. There is a significant gap between the work of civil society and the public’s perception. And closing this gap is not just a matter of communicating more. Impact in civil society is strengthened not only through activities on the ground, but also through relationships within the field and a shared production capacity. Strong external communication requires a strong internal ecosystem. A collective story cannot form without a common language. Trust cannot be built without sharing experiences.

That’s precisely why new narratives are needed. Narratives that describe civil society not only through project outcomes, but as an ecosystem that learns, debates, and produces solutions. At one point we asked ourselves this question:

“What happens if we talk together?”

Our YouTube program ‘Let’s Talk Together’ was born from this question. The program is not designed to send a direct message to society, but rather for civil society to first reflect, speak among itself, and learn from each other.

Each episode is shaped around a common topic or issue in the civil sphere. Topics such as resource development, work relations, equality, and resilience—issues relevant to many organizations in the sector—are explored in depth. While expertise and experience come together in studio conversations, interviews from the field enrich the discussion with concrete examples. This format enables a simultaneous look at both knowledge and on-the-ground reality.

The program has three regular segments:

Who Got the Mic? brings the experiences of civil society workers and volunteers directly to the screen.

There Is a Way goes beyond just discussing problems, making concrete examples of solutions developed in the field visible.

A Closer Look deepens the discussion with data and conceptual frameworks.

Thanks to this structure, the program is not just a space for conversation; it offers a learning platform that brings together experience, data, and solutions.

Because we know this: Shared experience creates collective memory. And collective memory amplifies impact.

The power of civil society lies not only in the projects it runs, but in its capacity for collective thinking and learning together.

And sometimes change really does begin by talking together.

Let’s keep talking together.
