Digital Mathematics Library for the Visually Impaired Opened

The Association of Visually Impaired in Education has opened the Digital Mathematics Library. The library, opened as part of the Accessible Digital Mathematics Library Project, contains lecture notes on subjects in the high school curriculum, documents consisting of sample questions with solutions, and topic review tests at three levels as easy, medium, and hard.

The library also contains math documents created in MS Office Word that can be read with the assistance of screen readers or Braille displays.

The Accessible Digital Math Library can be accessed through the website www.dijitalmatematik.org. Only individuals who certify that they are visually impaired are accepted into the library. In addition, the library offers instructional videos on how science and math teachers can create accessible math content in Word. The library also expects the support of those who wish to volunteer.
