Join us at the Global Forum for Modern Direct Democracy

The Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy, which has been held in different countries around the world since 2008, will be held in Bucharest, Romania on 15-18 May 2024.

Within the scope of our Freedom of Association Monitoring Project, which is supported by the European Union and carried out in cooperation with the Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV), we will support the participation of 7 civil society organisation representatives from Turkey in the "Modern Direct Democracy 2024 Global Forum" to support the participation of civil society organisations from Turkey in international civil society events.

You can find detailed information about the Forum and the draft programme here.

  • The travel and accommodation expenses of CSO representatives who will participate in the Modern Direct Democracy 2024 Global Forum will be covered from the project budget. Daily expenses to be incurred during the event will be documented by the participants at the end of the visit and will be sent to the bank accounts of the participants, not exceeding the specified upper limit.
  • CSO representatives who will participate in the event will be selected through an open call procedure. As translation support will not be provided during the event, it is expected that the CSO representatives who apply should have (English) communication competence. However, it will be preferable for the participants to have a valid passport and visa to enter Romania on the mentioned dates.
  • If your application is accepted, you will be asked for a "letter of appointment" from the management structure of the organisation you represent, stating that the participation in the whole programme on behalf of your organisation is approved.

CSO representatives who wish to participate in the Forum should fill in the application form until 14 March 2024 at 23.59.

Since the information provided in the application form is important in the process of determining the participants, it will be useful to answer the questions in detail. Accepted CSO representatives will be notified by e-mail on 22 March 2024.
