Our guide that strengthens gender equality in civil society is now published.

The "Guide for Mainstreaming Gender in Civil Society Organizations: The Birlikte Model," which we prepared as part of our BİRLİKTE Program aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of civil society organizations in Turkey and supporting solidarity-based learning processes, has been published. With this guide, we aim to contribute to the spread of the gender equality approach in the field of civil society.

In the second implementation period of the BİRLİKTE Program, which supports the strengthening of civil society organizations in Turkey, work was carried out with organizations to integrate gender equality into all areas of activity and internal operations of CSOs. The experiences and learnings gained during this process form the main content of this guide.

In the program, which views institutionalization not as a one-time goal but as a transformation process that develops over time, is nourished by experience, and continues with sustainability, organizations were supported in systematically analyzing their own strengths and development needs using a self-assessment approach in key areas such as governance, communication, resource management, and monitoring-evaluation.

During the second period of the program, the aim was to mainstream gender equality throughout all components of the organizational structure, in line with the goal of a more equitable and inclusive civil society. This guide, which was prepared in this context, aims to contribute to organizations’ institutional transformation processes by sharing the experience and knowledge gained with all civil society components.
