While a long and challenging process awaits us after the February Earthquakes, we aim to be an intermediary for longer-term collaborations in civil society by producing side by side with 25 CSOs on different topics ranging from refugee rights to environmental rights, LGBTI+ rights to disability rights, children's rights to cultural rights, and most importantly, by learning from each other and growing together for a stronger civil society.
In the new period, we will continue to implement our comprehensive program called "BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program" designed to contribute to the sustainability of rights-based CSOs, helping them fulfill their core objectives and achieve institutional development. The program encompasses both institutional grants and mentoring components for institutional development.
How was the evaluation process for the BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program conducted?
BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program applications opened on 03 June 2022 and the two-month application period ended on 03 August 2022.
We received a total of 180 applications from 30 different provinces for the program. The highest number of applications came from Istanbul (56), followed by Ankara (39), Izmir (16), Diyarbakır (13), and Mersin (7).
We started the opening session of the 4-stage evaluation process of the BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program with administrative compliance checks and continued with the evaluation of written applications. The evaluation of the written applications submitted to BİRLİKTE took about two months. After the written evaluations, we moved on to face-to-face interviews.
We conducted face-to-face interviews with a total of 42 CSOs from 9 provinces. All interviews were conducted in the offices of the applicant CSOs within 1 month.
In the final stage of the evaluation process, the Evaluation Committee made the final grant decision based on the evaluation scores of each application in the second and third stages. The evaluation process for the BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program, which began on August 4, 2022, following the closure of applications, lasted a total of 5.5 months.
Which CSOs are participating in the BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program this term?
In the second implementation period of BİRLİKTE Institutional Support Program, we will be working with 25 CSOs working in different fields in Ankara, Adıyaman, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir and Mersin for two years.
