STOK 200: Applications for the ‘Plan Lover Organizations’ Face-to-Face Training Programme Have Begun!

Applications are now open for our STOK 200 – Plan Lover Organizations face-to-face training programme, which we are running as part of the Resource Centre Program for CSOs in Turkey with the support of the European Union.

This four-month training programme is open only to representatives of civil society organisations (associations, foundations, initiatives, trade unions, platforms, city councils, non-profit cooperatives, federations, confederations, etc.) and will be held in Ankara. Travel and accommodation expenses for participants from outside Ankara will be covered by STGM.

STOK 200- Plan Lover Organizations is a 12-day training series that comprehensively addresses topics such as strategic planning, project cycle management, project implementation processes, monitoring, and evaluation. The series covers the following topics:

Fundamentals of Planning: Planning in education and the basic elements of planning are addressed comprehensively. Critical questions such as what we are planning, why we need planning, and where our organisation stands in this process are addressed. Participants are introduced to fundamental analysis concepts such as situation, problem, target audience, needs, stakeholders, GTZF, and PESTEL, which form the basis of planning. Opportunities for reflection and application are provided regarding the relationship between these concepts and the planning process.

Designing Change: Focuses on establishing the link between education planning and change. How do we design the change we aim to achieve within a specific timeframe? Organisations are introduced to tools and methods that enable them to see change at different levels, with content that establishes the link between change-focused intervention logic and the planning hierarchy. In this context, project-based approaches, project cycle management, and project preparation processes are addressed.

Planning the Organisation: With the methods and tools acquired in the first two trainings, organisations are introduced to concrete planning tools to move towards their defined change goals. Strategic planning processes for CSOs are addressed. They learn to align plans with the relationships between changes, outcomes, strategies, activities, and resources. They are introduced to organisational communication planning, which is an essential component of change planning.

Implementation, Evaluation, Learning: In this final training session of the series, an approach aimed at translating planning elements into the organisation and making them permanent is presented. Experiences and methods are shared on the relationship between implementation and monitoring processes, the importance of evaluation as an organisational practice, and how it can be adapted to organisational culture. In this context, project-based monitoring and project implementation processes are also addressed. The focus is on how to ask the right questions to understand and evaluate processes and results.
