Tech To The Rescue Announces Support for "Technology for Earthquake Relief in Turkey and Syria"

Tech To The Rescue, a platform established to address the technology needs of associations, foundations, and nonprofit cooperatives working particularly in disaster areas, has issued a call for support titled "Technology for Earthquake Relief in Turkey and Syria" following the February earthquakes.

NGOs can benefit from the following technology services by becoming members of the Tech To The Rescue platform;

  • CRM systems to manage staff, volunteers and operations
  • Websites to increase donations and improve communications
  • Logistics platforms to coordinate aid deliveries
  • Cyber security systems to protect your data

Free tools to manage business processes

NGOs that are members of the platform can use more than one tool for free. The tools are as follows;

  • Needlist, designed to coordinate your procurement needs, allows you to simultaneously gather and match needs and quotes to develop collaboration, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • MOndayERT helps you organize your work more efficiently by managing tasks and data across teams and projects.
  • Aidonic lets you communicate directly with recipients. Aidonic is prepared to coordinate donation activities carried out in collaboration with multiple partners.
  • With Automation Anywhere, you can save time by automating repetitive tasks and processes.

What kind of support can NGOs take advantage of?

Organizations working in the earthquake zone can use any of the following ready-to-use tools for free. The platform does not provide hardware support (such as computers or cell phones) or cash support.

The Tech To The Rescue platform is expected to remain open until the end of the year. During this period, organizations can submit their project ideas. Most of the services offered on the platform are free of charge. However, in very rare cases, a small percentage of the total cost may be required, depending on the complexity of the project.

Exploratory Meetings

For non-governmental organizations that do not have a specific project in mind, but want to brainstorm and develop technological solutions to an existing problem, technology companies will organize a workshop lasting several days. Once a clear idea for the solution is developed, they will help implement it.

Product Development

This track is a program designed for NGOs that know what they need technologically and have already designed projects. NGOs can contact appropriate technology companies through “Tech To The Rescue” to meet their technology needs (platform development, mobile apps, websites, data science, design, cybersecurity, e-commerce, consulting, etc.).

What do organizations need to do step by step to benefit from the support?

1. NGOs must first register at https://www.techtotherescue.org/earthquake-turkey-syria.
2. After the recommendations are approved, NGOs will be sent a link to upload their projects. Then, the Twinning team will work to match a company and organization that fit the needs of the project.
3. Once a match is found, the organization and the technology company will meet to discuss and agree on the collaboration. If the collaboration is accepted, both parties can sign a Memorandum of Understanding and set the parameters of their work together.
